After Ellie and Brenton were done getting the nursery painted and decorated, Ellie sat in the new nursery chair and smiled. “This is beautiful” as the tears started to fill her eyes.
Brenton’s heart broke while he watched her sit there and cry.
That afternoon Ellie made an appt with an Gynecologist the next morning to have some tests ran and to see what their options were on having a baby.
The next morning Ellie and Brenton got ready and headed out to their appt.
Outside the doctor’s office Ellie stopped Brenton. “I don’t know if I can do this!”
Brenton grabbed her hands and assured her that everything will be ok and that he will be with her every step of the way. He gave her a long hug and they walked into the office.
The waiting room was packed. Ellie didn’t realize this local hospital was so busy! They are pretty healthy sims so they’ve never had much of a reason to go to the doctor.
Ellie’s name is called and the butterflies start to turn her stomach. Brenton wraps his arm around hers and taps her hand. “its ok, we’re in this together.”
The nurse take them back to the examining room.
A chill kinda ran through Ellie like icey water running off the roof in the winter.
“I have a bad feeling about this”
After their appointment the doctor told them he would give them a call when the tests came back and he’s reviewed the ultrasound.
Waiting for that call was like torture! Ellie paced back and forth for days!
FINALLY! The call comes in. Ellie’s the first one to the phone and picks up. She talks with the doctor while Brenton stands their patiently waiting to hear the news.
She gets off the phone and turns to talk to Brenton. “He said I may never be able to bear children. That if I did, I may not be able to keep the pregnancy and that I have a very high risk of miscarriage. He gave us some options if we were to want to try for a baby. He mentioned the wishing well but doesn’t recommend it. Also suggested a fertility treatment at the Spa. Other options would be to have a fertility treatment done at the hospital but warned me, the one at the hospital usually results in multiple births and a multiple birth would be hazardous to me and the babies and could kill us all.”
This is a very hard decision that Brenton and Ellie will have to face. What are they going to choose? The Wishing Well? The Spa Treatment? or the Hospital Treatment?
