It had been a few weeks since Watson saw Brenda. He wondered how she was doing but didn’t want to risk Emma finding out that he never called it off with her. He just couldn’t. She made him feel young and adventurous. Something Emma never made him feel like. Emma is only 1 year younger than him and Brenda is almost 10 years younger. Being with one that young makes him feel so young. She’s so energetic and lively. He’s just not ready to give that up.
While Watson was at work he got a call from Brenda. She said they needed to meet today and that it was very important that they talk. What could this be? They agreed that they would meet when Watson went out for lunch. This would limit the suspicion from Emma since he goes to lunch quite often to various restaurants.
They met up at the local bar and he gave her a kiss on the cheek when she arrived.
They sat down on a nearby couch and she leaned over and gave him a kissed. At least this showed she wasn’t going to be the one leaving him. All of a sudden she got a sick look on her face and she rubbed her stomach. She took off towards the restroom.
When she came back he said the first thing that came to his mind, “What’s wrong? You okay? You look very ill.”
She turned and looked at Watson. “I called you out here today because I wanted to tell you, I’m pregnant.”
“Is it mine?” He couldn’t believe he said that. Of course it would be his, why would Brenda be cheating on him? Then he thought about that and realized, well she is with me and I’m a married man so I guess anything is possible.
“How could you say that!” Brenda did not find that comment amusing and she was very upset by it.
Watson did some smooth apologizing and Brenda soon forgave him for what he had said. They gave each other one last kiss and Watson headed back to work for the day.
