Annalise walked back in after kissing Lawson goodbye outside after the ball fell for New Years. Fiona was still up. She was standing in the dining area of the apartment with her hands on her hips.
“What do you think you are doing with that boy? Do you think I did not see you from here, outside kissing him! You are and will not date that boy, he is to old for you. You have no idea what he wants!”
“I want to be with him mom, I think we could really have something. He isn’t to old for me! I will be an adult in a year and I am old enough to decide who I want to date!” Annalise was getting really angry with her mom. She has never acted like this before. What is her problem!
Before Fiona could say anything else on this matter, Annalise stormed off in to her room and slammed the door shut.
Derrick was already in bed, he has to work the next day and couldn’t stay up late. I will have to talk to him tomorrow about this. There is no way our daughter is going to be dating a man of his age!
The next day, Annalise was still mad at her mom. She wasn’t going to talk to her at all. She came into the kitchen, got some breakfast and headed back to her room. It’s a good thing she doesn’t know we are now officially dating. If just kissing him threw her over the edge I have no idea what the idea of us dating is going to do! I may have to try to keep this a secret.
Later that day Derrick had come home from work. “Derrick, we need to talk. We need to talk privately.” Fiona mentioned as she was walking back to their room. She shut the door in hopes that Annalise won’t be able to hear what they were talking about.
“What’s going on? Why is Annalise in her room?”
“Her and I got into an argument last night. After the ball dropped she kissed that Lawson!”
Derrick could see the anger in her eyes. She was really upset about this.
“I thought you liked him.”
“He’s a nice boy but come on Derrick, he’s almost out of college already and Annalise hasn’t graduated high school. ”
Derrick thought about that a moment. He hadn’t really realized that Lawson was almost 5 years older than Annalise. Not a big deal when your both adults but she’s still a minor yet. “I agree. She’s a little young yet for a relationship like that. I remember being that age and how I was back then. He can just stay away from my little girl!”
Fiona lightly shoved his shoulder and giggled a little. “You don’t need to make this any worse by saying how you were at that age! That only makes it worse.”
Is Annalise really going to try to keep this a secret? Will her parents do what they can to prevent this relationship from continuing?
